Nantucket Home Tour by Eileen Kathryn Boyd

OCTOBER 24, 2024 | 4 min read

In the heart of Nantucket, Massachusetts, sits Ten Easy Street—a Greek Revival meets Shaker Style concept show home and showroom. Innovative curator Eileen Kathryn Boyd designed the space to flaunt the beauty of various brand partners and show products in dramatic situations.

When we spoke with Eileen Kathryn Boyd about the show home, she told us, “There's no shortage of tactile moments as you wander the house.”

The Exterior

Ten Easy offers sweeping views of the harbor and sits just steps from the main downtown areas, making it a coveted location for liked-minded designers, creatives and visitors. The exterior itself stays true to its history with a handcrafted finish.

The Front Foyer

The front door lies just a few short steps from the ferry, giving panoramic views of the harbor from the entryway. The front foyer serves as an introduction to the design style of the interior of the home. Different views of the house's various rooms can be seen from the entry as well, giving visitors a taste of what is yet to come as they explore the rest of the show home.

The Kitchen

Just off the entryway and foyer, the design-forward kitchen features a full suite of JennAir® appliances in the RISE Design Expression—purchased in partnership from KAM Appliances. Each appliance delivers high performance and an unforgettable experience, like the large professional-style gas range and built-in coffee system. Luxury can be felt in every detail of the RISE Design Expression, from the knurled texture on the handle to the brass accents on the knobs of the range.

But the true focal point of the room? The column refrigerator that features the 2024 Limited Edition Cuts Panel: Mystic. The alluring shade was inspired by the mysterious underwater depths, where sunlight filters through and glistens along the ocean floor. Swathed in bespoke, seductive Italian leather, the column refrigeration makes a statement amongst the kitchen's light and bright color palette.

Other special details in the kitchen include the Kallista hammered sink, pink marble taps, and the stunning Form Cabinetry. Refined finishes are present in every inch of the kitchen, from the carefully selected Staub cookware to the custom Caesarstone countertops. And with it being an eat-in kitchen, visitors can prepare dishes for gatherings or have an intimate meal together.

The Dining Room

High-end touches mixed with high design can be found throughout the rest of the home's first floor, like in the dining room. The room's moody aesthetic is broken up with bright colors from magenta lamp shades, artwork and throw pillows. The brushed brass Buster + Punch switch plates on the tablescape create a striking material moment, just waiting for people to enter the room and enjoy themselves.

The Reading Room

Bold pops of color continue to the curated library by Phaidon. Behind the built-in bookshelves, a vibrant shade of red draws the eye to each of the titles of the curated collection of books. The cozy furniture and elevated decor provide visitors with a room to escape, curl up, and dive into a book.

The Great Room

With sweeping views of the harbor, the great room is a multi-purpose space for entertaining and connecting. Decorated with archival-inspired Farrow & Ball Wallcoverings, the rich red shade on the walls creates a stylish atmosphere for any event or gathering. Much like the rest of the showhome, this space is filled with lavish textures, bold prints and dramatic colors, inspiring creativity and conversation over a refreshing cocktail.

Along the wall, the deep red motif extends to the wet bar. The JennAir® column refrigerator is finished with a leather panel in burgundy Croc. Similar to the limited-edition leather panel on the column refrigerator in the kitchen, its texture and unexpected color make a statement among the other bright shades in the room.

A JennAir® undercounter refrigerator complements the attention-grabbing column refrigerator. When paired together, each refrigerator allows one to host in style while keeping wine, hors d'oeuvres and other libations chilled to perfection.

The Bedrooms

Each bedroom in the show home draws inspiration from a light and inviting color palette, effortlessly complementing each other while being unique in their own right. The muted tones in each room provide each guest with a retreat. The details, even down to the selection of the linens, are curated to create a serene atmosphere in the different bedrooms.

The Garden Foyer

At the bottom of the stairs, one final moment of texture and design awaits. Rustic pieces of furniture, like the red upholstered bench and wooden side table, continue the look of thoughtfully crafted pieces up to the rear door. And a white stable door leads to the back gardens, providing patrons with the opportunity to let the outdoors in in the warmer months.

The Gardens

Just as much attention was paid to the outdoor spaces of the home. The gardens offer a moment of serenity among the bustling Nantucket downtown, with different areas to sit, sip on a crisp glass of wine and take in the scenery. Gorgeous foliage and greenery fill every corner, providing visitors with moments of privacy when just steps from the harbor.

About Ten Easy

Creativity is woven into the foundation of the home and continues to be a space for luxury, beauty and design. The reimagined historic home was originally built in 1933 for Miss Florence L. Schepp, a member of the Artists Association of Nantucket. Schepp, an artist herself, often exhibited at the Easy Street Gallery (which she helped fund) and at the annual Sidewalk Art Shows.

Boyd's vision for the house was classically inclined with a fashion-forward edge, which comes through in the selection of bold materials and elevated brands. The home also serves as an activation space and ground for cross-promotion with other luxury brands.
